Zindagi Maut Na Banjaye (Sarfarosh - 1999)

A composition to die for.

RESPECTFUL HOMAGE TO ALL KILLED IN NOV 26 MUMBAI ATTACK

Really its one of my most favorite songs. The amazing talent of Sonu Nigam and Roop Kumar Rathod is displayed at its apex in this song. A sheer delight for anybody who has a taste for great music. Jatin-Lalit, the duo music directors have done a tremendous job extracting every ounce of talent from both the vocally gifted singers. There is lot of classical and gazal style singing involved. I would rate this song as one of the toughest song ever composed. Its stupidity and sheer love for this song that has made me even attempt singing this great composition. I've never had any real formal training in classical or gazal singing which could make my song selection to most, who know me, as "madness". As it is said "Great Risks Brings Great Reward". I have done the "Risk" part here and the satisfaction I get on finishing rendering of this vocal is extremely "pleasure filled" to say the least. The soundtrack did not have the "chorus" part so I tried to do a little improvisation singing those parts multiple times and then super-imposed them to get the same feel. Also singing the "Sargam" notes at the end (which again has been sung together by both the singers in the original) of the song was a very challenging experience and I tried to do as much justice with it as my little talent could afford to. Also tried to super-impose two version of this "Sargam" both sung by me at different pitch. Hope everyone who listens this song will enjoy it as much as I did singing it !!!

Badan Pe Sitare (Prince - 1969)

CLASSIC !! CLASSIC !! CLASSIC !! All I can say is that its one of the liveliest and classic dance-floor worthy rock-n-roll ever with marvelous rendering by Mohd. Rafi. Music by Shanker-Jaikishan. Shammi Kapoor, in the song, looks like he came to shoot straight from the family Thanksgiving dinner where he gorged a whole Turkey wearing a suite which wasn't tailored for such an emergency :D . Here's my attempt to sing this wonderful composition.

Tanhayee (Dil Chahta Hai - 2001)

A wonderful song from a wonderful movie. I have lost the count of how many times I have seen this movie. Music from Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy is amazing. They try to experiment and explore uncharted areas of music in this movie and do so with quite some sucess. This is one of the very dramatic and emotionally charged songs. The music is becharming to put it simply ! Sonu Nigam does a superb job rendering the vocal. Here goes my modest rendition of this all time classic.

Pathar ke Sanam (1967)

Although I haven't seen this movie but the ethereal melody of this song and the great panache with which Mohammad Rafi sang this song has always fascinated me. In this song we see a distinctive and stylishly elegant singing by the maestro (Rafi) !! Here's my attempt to sing this great composition.
